FBC Comedy
FBC Comedy was a Flarlandian television channel, operated by the Flarlandian Broadcasting Corporation.
History[edit | edit source]
The channel launched in July 1996 as part of the FBC Digital suite of channels. It drew upon a large catalog that the FBC had domestic rights to, including repeats of series like Not This Way or Inside Khyber Waterman as well as a handful of imports. It had two competitors, IBC's Comedy Channel and Paramount Comedy (renamed Comedy Central in 1998). Following a couple of years, FBC Digital was made available on IBC Digital as a free service.
FBC Comedy's golden age started with the shutdown of BEdigital in the brief transitory service before the launch of Freeview later on in 2002.
As the years went on, the channel was divesting, to the extent that its website wad lacking updates and its Facebook page was on the verge of abandonment. FBC Comedy shut down on October 31st, 2012. It was replaced by the short-lived youth channel D.
