The Song, formerly Radio Capital, is a Flarlandian commercial CHR network owned by IBC.

History[edit | edit source]

The network spun off from IBC Radio 3, an experimental IBC radio service funded by the IBC companies to test local radio on the FM band. The first broadcast on both AM and FM was on March 12, 1979, displacing IBC Radio 2's AM network to FM (yet the AM service was similar to the former Radio 2).

Capital AM featured programming for a wider array of people, Capital FM focused primarily on the youth, dedicatong its schedule to contemporary hits. One of its marquee programs was TNT: The New Top, a weekly chart show that still runs to this day.
