The Simpsons is a Sierran television series created by Matt Groening, airing on the FOX network since 1989. These are the Naran broadcasters.

Broadcast[edit | edit source]

Bensonia[edit | edit source]

The series was a longtime fixture of the Sentry Broadcasting Corporation (1991 to 1997 and again 2003 to 2012).

Flarland[edit | edit source]

The series arrived to FBC Network One in 1991 and was shown on Thursdays, in the mid-90s it moved to Sundays. By 1997, the series had moved to FBC 3 who was still showing reruns while FBC 1 was showing first-run episodes weekly. This eventjally led to the show being seen on FBC 3 exclusively from 1998. FBC 3 continued airing the series regularly, with an uninterrupted run starting in 2006, ending in February 2013, following an authorized repeat showing of the 23rd season and the short The Longest Daycare. The series returned to the FBC on the same channel in August 2015, with the 24th season shown daily before being sent to weekly repeats, followed by the 25th season. This turned out to be the last season to air on the FBC. The FBC has historically been behind FOX Flarland - in late 2009, when the FBC were in the later part of the 20th season, FOX Flarland was still "premiering" season 16 (first shown in 2008 on FBC 3) while reruns mainly ran up to season 15.

The series faced many issues, especially regarding the excessive usage of alcohol in an animated series, as alcoholic beverages are banned due to cultural sensitivity due to it being an Ashtalaic country. No episode, however, was banned from circulation on either FBC or FOX.

The Flarlandian government issued a travel ban to Nancy Cartwright, one of the voice actors, on the grounds that she is a Scientologist and any sort of religion, including "deadly cults" like the one she professes, are banned, in a completely secular and "pagan" country. The ban came after she used her Bart voice to promote an event in Los Rios in 2009.

Hopeland[edit | edit source]

The series is one of the most popular, if not, the most popular Sierran animated series to air in Hopeland. The series ran on MTN until 2017. After Disney-NBN bought MTN, the series, in a rather odd move, was now on sister network NBN, with MTN airing reruns.

Initially, like most of the world, the most popular character was Bart, but over time, Lisa and even secondary child characters from the series (especially Martin, Ralph and Milhouse) have overtaken him in popularity.

The series was made available on Disney+ in 2019, moving in from Hulu. As with the rest of the world, the Michael Jackson episode is still banned.

Nashland[edit | edit source]

The series first aired on Sky One in 1990, partly due to Rupert Murdoch's links to the Sky satellite network, to NSB's dismay. When NSB started carrying Sky's channels in 1991, it blocked The Simpsons during its broadcast claiming that "the satellite market is flawed". A solution was found in 1993 when Sky Multichannels was created and NSB responded by airing the series.

The ITN network began carrying the series in 1994, by making a test run on Prime Television in Oxton in late time slots, after the News at Ten. If the series was successful, the series would roll out on other regions nationwide. Unfortunately, ratings were low and Prime stopped carrying the series. Two years later, the NBS began showing the series, however, instead of premiering the second season, possibly unaware of the situation at Prime Television, they opted to premiere everything from the first season. Initially it aired on NBS One, but it was quickly moved to NBS Two where it fared considerably better. In 2004, the price of the series was considered "too high" for a state-run broadcaster dependent on television licence fees and Four TSN decided to get first-run terrestrial rights.

A move to ITN U was suggested in 2015, knowing that ITN would be interested in the series, but The Big Bang Theory ended up moving channels, resulting in the Four TSN Corporation regaining the rights to Friends and moving most reruns of The Simpsons to E4 as compensation.

Northulia[edit | edit source]

The series first aired on Network Ten in 1991 (ironically it was previously owned by Rupert Murdoch before he changed nationalities). It benefitted from the lack of pay-TV in the country, opposite Nashland, to an extent where the series became popular and one episode was made as homage to its popularity: Bart vs. Northulia.

The series was popular enough to score reruns on both Ten and Fox 8, part of Murdoch's dominant pay television operator Foxtel.

As part of a reshuffling of the network, Ten decided to move the series to sister channel Eleven upon its launch in late 2010, although reruns returned to the main channel in later years.

In 2017, CBS bought Ten and decided not to continue its contract with Fox, and announced that the Fox catalog would move to a new channel. In October 2017, when Ten announced its cancellation, the Nine Network, owned by Disney, became the new rights holder of the catalog on Northulian terrestrial television, and the series moved to 9Go! in January 2018. 9Go!, at the time ot started screening new episodes of the series as well as repeats, gained unusually high viewing figures, mostly coming from direct competitor Eleven.

Reitanna[edit | edit source]

The series first aired on Reitanna 2 in 1991. It also aired on Reitanna 1. In 1994, the Reitannan Television Network got the rights to it and became one of the channel's most popular shows. Reruns air on Neox.
