TV3, formerly legally known as Chongfang Color Television Enterprise, is a national commercial television channel in Tangwa. It is the most-viewed channel, its sister channels are 8TV and YTV.

History[edit | edit source]

TV3 was formed in 1965 by the Chongfang Television Committee. At the time there was only one television channel in Tangwa, Tangwa Television, on channel 1 in Chongfang. The government approved a law for privately-owned enterprises to enter the television market, but under the condition that they would broadcast on a provincial level.

In July 1967, TV3 began operating, initially in Chongfang City. Two years later, the broadcasts expanded to all of Chongfang Province. In 1972, TV3 began relaying news and dramas to other provinces.

A new law in 1980 changed the face of television, with TV3 beginning to start its own national network. The government would take control of the provincial stations. Broadcasts were now in color nationwide.

As the 80s progressed, TV3 grew in terms of popularity and became one of Sondria's largest television networks in both production and audience.

Currently TV3 is the market leader. Eight in every ten television sets are tuned to the channel during prime time.
