Žarmyqtan Television International (often styled Zarmyqtan or Zharmyqtan and abbreviated either ŽTI, ZTI or ZhTI) was a Flarlandian television channel targeting ethnic Hayastelaris available on the Freeview platform and on subscription services under a must-carry clause.

The channel operated between May 2, 2017 and May 31, 2019. It shut down due to financial instabilities and lack of viewership, as even NEXT's Hayastelary channel and the youth-skewed Žangysy TV had higher figures.

History[edit | edit source]

During its two years on air, the channel had a very intense and troubled existence. Žarmyqtan Television International was given a license to operate in November 2016, by the time of its founding, and its namesake is the Žarmyqtan Tower in Amaran. The channel was scheduled to launch on April 26, 2017, but due to technical issues (the first of many), the launch was eventually delayed to the morning of May 2, 2017. There were plans to make the channel available worldwide - aside from its internet stream - by negotiating with international operators.

The channel was created for the purpose of creating a new, independent entertainment channel, during the growth of television channels for the Hayastelaris of Flarland. Most of its first year on air was stable, with quality Hayastelari television series and local productions. However in March 2018, the channel witnessed economical issues and was forced to begin a funding program to keep the channel on air. Eventually the problems were averted, but not completely.

In May 2019, the channel announced that it was unable to pay its debt and would wind up its operations on May 31 at 22:00.
