U&I is a Hopelandian technological company founded in 2000. In the 2010s it became famous for purchasing some of the workers of the bankrupt Comtam.
History[edit | edit source]
U&I was founded in Palmerston in December 2000 as Northulic Microtech. Initially it was a local manufacturer of components for companies like Comtam, Microsoft and IBM. The company had about twenty employees and favorable working conditions. In the coming months, NM's profit began to grow slightly, forcing the company to open offices in Ripponlea and Albany. In November of the following year, the company was simply renamed Microtech.
As Microtech, and taking advantage of its expansion, it started to manufacture PDAs, one of Comtam's fields of excellence at the time.
