The Walt Disney Company (Lenapore) Pte Ltd (or simply Disney Lenapore) is the Lenaporean subsidiary of Sierran media conglomerate The Walt Disney Company, and is headquartered in Lenapore City.

It was set up under a licensing agreement between the Lenaporean government and TWDC in March 1989 as part of plans for Disney's growing international expansion, with the government's control being one of the few surviving strongholds of the pre-1984 law. The government quickly sold off the assets in October 1989 and TWDC Lenapore became a full-fledged division of its parent company, thus allowing it to set up a separate subsidiary for the remaining ASESON markets with Lenaporean assistance.

Currently it is the second-largest media conglomerate in Lenapore, after Mediacorp, a position boosted by the merger of 21st Century Fox's assets into Disney's.

History[edit | edit source]

Disney's Renaissance era was proven to be the gears towards its growth worldwide, as the company was now investing in television series and returning to producing big-budget animated films. Five years before starting a Lenaporean branch, it had already diversified its contents beyond the family market by setting up Touchstone Pictures, targeting a predominantly older demographic. Disney was still releasing films worldwide, but by the late 80s, the company started to divide its international operations even further, targeting specific regions.

While there was a Sondrian division set up in 1980, it was quickly split up into two divisions in 1981: one for Orience and Ishigaki (the two were later split) and one for the rest of Sondria, but even such a division was controlled from the corporate headquarters in the United States. This changed in early 1989, when Disney was given permission by the Lenaporean government to set up a local division. It was established on March 1, 1989 as a joint-venture with the Lenaporean government, but within half a year, the government divested its stakes as Lenapore's economy went into a fully-capitalized system.
