SBBC 1 is the main television channel of the South Bulungian Broadcasting Corporation, broadcasting in English and Nguni languages. It caters a mostly black and urban demographic since 1996, using the viewership base of the former CCV (whose frequencies were taken over by SBBC 2), in a move that angered longtime viewers of the former TV1.

It is South Bulungi's oldest television channel, commencing regular service in June 1969, where it was known as SBBC Television. Color broadcasts started in 1974, followed by a rename to TV1 in 1980. The current name arrived in 1996.
