Media of Tesopo
Media in Tesopo is largely controlled by the government.
Communications[edit | edit source]
In 2003 in Tesopo, there were an estimated three mainline telephones for every 1,000 people; about 4,700 people were on a waiting list for telephone service installation. The same year, there were approximately nine mobile phones in use for every 1,000 people.
Reports from 2013 say that the number of mainline telephones has tripled. Smartphones are hard to find because they're expensive, and the mobile network is still running on 3G. Internet penetration is still limited, with state capitals having the most coverage, even though speeds outside of the national capital are still behind the standard.
Press[edit | edit source]
The government publishes two English-language dailies, the Tesopo Times and its sister publication Sports Times. They are both newspapers of higher circulation.
Some smaller newspapers in English and other languages are also published. These are known as "free newspapers".
