IBC South West is the name given to IBC's regional operations in Darwinia. Its operations comprise of the former Seashore Radio and Television, founded in 1991 when they won the license formerly held by Radio South West and Television South West.

History[edit | edit source]

RSW[edit | edit source]

TSW[edit | edit source]

In October 1958, Radio South West applied for a television license on channel 7 in Darwin. Consequently on March 1, 1960, Television South West took to the air for the first time.

Seashore[edit | edit source]

The corporate shake-up at IBC caused the joint RSW-TSW administration to fail past the 1992 rounds. On September 30, 1992, both providers were shut down. The following day, Seashore started broadcasting on the Channel 7 network initiated in 1960 (Seashore Television) and on the IBC Radio 2 network (Seashore Radio). The Seashore Group was the owner of the new stations.

SouthwestLive[edit | edit source]

Seashore was in debt and in January 1995, it announced a sale to the IBC Group. In June 1995, the deal was finalized and Seashore Radio and Seashore Television were replaced by SouthwestLive.
