Unlike in the real world, Esperanto was invented earlier. Two years earlier, to be more exact, in 1885. Esperanto eventually became the national language of a tiny country, Esperanta, yet, like in the real world, is not even used as a "native language".

Religions[edit | edit source]
In Spiritism, a religion that started in Étienne but eventually became more popular in Vera Cruz, some mediums suggested that the language should be used in publications. This creates a false myth that Esperanto is a "Spiritist's language", and as a key contradictory factor, not a lot of people from this religion are Esperantists (number of Spiritists who are Esperantists in Vera Cruz: approximately 1%). This phenomenon is not verified in other countries.
