Ulteria
Ulteria (Ulterian: Utteria) is a Spanish-speaking country in Northulia, located east of the International Date Line and closer to Latin Sierra.
History[edit | edit source]
Prehistory and Old Ages[edit | edit source]
In the prehistory of Ulteria there was an Austronesian tribe known as the Ulterians, they lived in the current region of Rejaca (Rehaka), and later expedited to travel to Antares
Middle Ages[edit | edit source]
During the circumnavigation of 1520 the islands of Ulteria and Antares were discovered and claimed by the Castillans.
By 1522 the Catholic Church started operating despite a number of issues with the natives.
In 1660 a group of further colonists from Eurectipheria came to the islands with the aim of claiming the land as theirs and entering in conflict with the interests of the Castillan Empire.
Independent colony[edit | edit source]
In 1890 the country becomes independent, and the Republic of Ulteria is created.
In 1891 the first Division Compact is signed creating three zonquejos, Zonquejo Sur where the capital Hangla is located, Zonquejo Centro and Zonquejo Norte. The first regular president Manuel Melano is formally elected that same year.
Contemporary Age[edit | edit source]
Second World War[edit | edit source]
In 1939 World War II broke out worldwide. News of the invasion of Swilatia by Nazi Hartung came with about a week's worth of delay. President Josemirto, to show his support with the unfairly attacked Swilatian state, proceeded to create a political movement to eradicate the creation of movements like the one in Nazi Hartung, with the goal of providing logistical support for Swilatia. However it was too late when Swilatia was conquered, especially since the limited population of Swilatian ancestry mostly consisted of immigrants from Armandina. Josemirto decided to change his strategy and decided to send a group of 100 Swilatian descendants to Armandina. Subsequently Armandina annexed Ulteria, under its dictator Antonio Campestre.
Following the annexation of Ulteria, Ulterians quickly become Armandines because, thanks to Armandina, they are now technically part of Latin Sierra.
Late 20th century[edit | edit source]
On August 15, 1945, Armandina ceased claiming control over the territories of Ulteria and Antares.
21st century[edit | edit source]
Pandemic and beginning of the crisis[edit | edit source]
In February 2021, a campaign begins throughout Ulteria linked to the crisis and the mismanagement of the pandemic, where several Ulterians burn Chinese shops, however the conflict did not escalate and on March 27, 2021 the situation stabilized.
The country announced in November 2021 that it stopped recognizing the PRK as the legitimate government of Kaizhung, the move happened the same month as Nimarania did the opposite.
On November 24, 2021, violent demonstrations take place against the government's decision to recognize Xiaowan over Kaizhung, causing 3 deaths and more than 100 detainees.
Generalized crisis, NONMUS, protests and new capital[edit | edit source]
On December 4, 2021, the government announced the move of the capital of Ulteria to Reinaldito, providing a more centralized location. On March 28, 2022, Ulteria became an associated member of the NONMUS alliance.
