Television in the Pakifas
The Pakifas were introduced to television in 1962. Until 1992, there was just one channel, Voice of Pakifas Television (now VOP One). Currently the Pakifas have roughly a dozen local television channels, most of them available on Freeview Pakifas. Additionally, the Pakifan Telecommunications Corporation owns the local cable and satellite television networks, relying primarily on Sondrian and Northulian channels.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1959, the Pakifan government accepted a deal from numerous companies to help build VOP's television network. Finally, with support from Ngamiben Electric, Television International Enterprises from Nashland and the three Flarlandian television broadcasters of the time (FBC, UWB, IBC), Voice of Pakifas Television went on air on February 6, 1962.
