Television in Great Giana is largely dependent of television in Hopeland. However, despite such "dependence", Great Gianan television programs and fiction have been intensely produced for years.

History[edit | edit source]

When television arrived to Hopeland in 1949, television was still living in a state of "licence freezes" - when IBS signed up for a television service in Albany, responses from stations and affiliates-to-be in Hopeland itself were overwhleming. In 1950, an IBS committe decided to begin implementing a television service in Great Giana - only if there was interest from the Gianan Broadcasting Corporation, which was ultimately defeated from the bidding process, but eventually launched its own television service in later years.
