TV Bensonia is a Bensonian public television network owned by the Federal Broadcasting Corporation of Bensonia. Its main headquarters are in Bensonland, FD and Galveston, GS, with further subsidiaries in state capitals and regional markets. These stations combined make the Public Television Network, with the participation of Culture Television.

History[edit | edit source]

Two television stations are behind what we now know as TV Bensonia - National Television, on channel 3 (later channel 2) in Bensonland, was founded in 1960 along with the city; BETV Bensonia (Bensonian Educational Television) later signed on in 1975 and made ties with other public stations in 1980.

These two stations, along with a handful of other public broadcasters, were to become affiliates of a new "second public network", as Culture, despite being limited to Grand Rapids at first, was more established than TVB.

The Edward Priestfield government issued a decree that led to the dissolution of the old backbone of these two stations by merging them and creating the larger TV Bensonia network. The decree was announced on Ocotber 24, 2007 and was approved the following day. On December 2, 2007, when DTT broadcasts commenced in Bensonia, the new network launched, initially on the two aforementioned cities.
