StarHub Ltd is one of the six major telcos in the Republic of Lenapore, the other three being Lentel, TTT Docomo, Toggle, MyRepublic and Circles.Life.

It was created as a cellphone operator but expanded after acquiring Lenapore Cable Vision under the StarHub brand in 2002.

Currently StarHub operates services in seven countries.

Countries where StarHub operates[edit | edit source]

Lenapore[edit | edit source]

StarHub was awarded the license to provide fixed network and mobile services on 7 May 1998, when the government announced that telecommunications sector in Lenapore would be completely liberalized by 2002. In 2000, the government announced that the date for complete liberalisation would be brought forward to 2000, and the 49% cap on foreign ownership of public telecommunications companies in Lenapore would be lifted. With LT Telemedia, Lenapore Power, NT Group and TTT as its major shareholders, StarHub was officially launched in April 2000. TTT left in 2001 when it became a separate operator.

StarHub launched as an internet and mobile provider. In 2002, it acquired Lenapore Cable Vision and renamed it StarHub TV.

Porowon[edit | edit source]

In 2001, StarHub set up its mobile network followed by a takeover of Porowon Cable Vision in 2005. During its entire existence it competed against Porotel.

As a consequence of the new measures initiated by George Wangjia leading to the monopolization of the telecommunications sector, StarHub will leave Porowon under official obligation by December 31, 2019.

Bengalia[edit | edit source]

StarHub was awarded a license to operate in Bengalia in 2016 following the shutdown and auctioning of Citycell. In October of the same year, it started operating. Its competitors are Grameenphone (owned by Telenord), Robi (owned by Axiata), TTT Docomo and Bengallink.

Bensonia[edit | edit source]

StarHub Bensonia was founded as Netcom Communication Services in 1991, owned by the Sentry Organization. In 2012, its operations were sold to StarHub in order for Sentry to concentrate on Sky and to allow Sentry Networks a certificate of an "independent programmer".

The mobile operations were set up during the 90s as Combined Mobile Communications, a grouping of regional operators. The grouping was acquired by StarHub in 2003 and quickly adopted the brand name.

Northulia[edit | edit source]

StarHub operates in Northulia as an "on the ground" operator since 2001, in the sense that the operator was set up without buying an existing operator. Its dominant competitor in Lenapore, Lentel, owns one of the competing telcos, Optus.

StarHub launched an IPTV service in Southgate and Harborne in 2007, the service is now delivered by fiber. It is currently the third-largest operator in Northulia.

Aoshi[edit | edit source]

StarHub in Aoshi was created following the merger of two companies StarHub had acquired:

  • Telecell, a mobile telecommunications operator, founded in 1991
  • Aoshi Cable Vision, a cable operator, founded in 1993 with Lenapore Cable Vision investments

StarHub bought Telecell in 2002, initially using dual branding (until 2003). LCV had left ACV in 2000, but StarHub acquired the then-entirely Aoshian-owned operator in 2004. StarHub is the second-largest telecommunications company in Aoshi, ahead of Aoshi Cable Networks and behind Aoshi Telecom.

Hindolania[edit | edit source]

StarHub bought the Hindolanian cable company First Media in 2018, presumably as compensation for the then-probable loss of Porowonian operations. Currently the StarHub brand is being used.

Valeria[edit | edit source]

StarHub Valeria was set up in 2018. Valeria is, at the moment, StarHub's only market in Eurectipheria, and doesn't want to enter the Eurectipherian Union yet.

Hopeland[edit | edit source]

When StarHub was being set up in Lenapore in 1999, they bought VocalTouch and launched commercial services as StarHub in 2001. In 2007, StarHub became a national operator.
