Sarian Television is a Sarian commercial television network founded in 1957.

History[edit | edit source]

Regional identities were dropped between 2000 and 2003. By then almost every region was branded as Sarian TV.

Regions[edit | edit source]

Before a revision in 2006, STV was divided up into nine regions, each of them assigned to one of the former license holders:

  • Highlands and Islands
  • Western Highlands and Islands
  • North East
  • Tayside
  • Central
  • Fife
  • Cromartie
  • Solway
  • Borders

In 2006, STV revised its regional areas, reducing the number from nine to six. The two separate license areas for the Highlands and Islands were merged into a larger region, Tayside into the North East license area and Solway merged with Borders to form a license area for the Southern Uplands.
