Rissoma is a country in south-eastern Sondria. It is a landlocked country bordering Chichetya to the west and Tangwa to the east.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Rissoma likely comes from Rik Song Ma, however this definition is considered vague.

History[edit | edit source]

Ancient kingdoms[edit | edit source]

Reports of the ancient kingdoms of modern Rissoman territory go back to the days of the Chichetyan Panchatantra. The few people living there set up small city-states with virtually no competition at all. By the year 530 AC, the leading kingdom was the Kingdom of Takhu. Takhu was led by Rairaima (514-616), who became the world's longest-reining monarch according to records given at the time. Eventually Takhu started absorbing the other kingdoms and paved way for the creation of the future state of Rissoma.

Chichetyan annexation[edit | edit source]

New sovereignty[edit | edit source]

Modernization[edit | edit source]

In 1989, the king of Rissoma announced plans to begin modernizing some of the infrastructure. The last time such a thing happened was in 1974.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

Rissoma's population, as of March 2020, is of 58.900.

Culture[edit | edit source]

Media[edit | edit source]

Rissoma is served by three radio stations: two owned by Pangcheng Rissoma (PR Radio and Moenhwa Pangcheng) and one commercial station, FM Takhu. Pangcheng Rissoma has a terrestrial television monopoly, operating one television channel. Cable TV is available, yet only one third of the population has it. It is believed that Rissomans find PRTV to be somehow unappealing. Plans to improve the service are often cried out.

Internet, however, is available to at least one fifth of the population. Smartphones are far from being common, many people still rely on old cellphones.

Sports[edit | edit source]

Rissoma's main sports are archery and soccer.
