Nuristar was the tentative title of a film adaptation of Nuristar. Very little was known about this project except that it was to be a combination of live action and animation and would have been written by the Nuristar showrunners and Flarlandian Golden Globe-winning screenwriter Michael Strain. Media gossiper Dan Haskins mentioned that Cinema Service's plan for the film included having the Nuristar characters be portrayed by live actors. This was denied by Nuristar's creator, who stated that the characters would remain animated as they would on the show.

Originally announced in 2011, the movie was originally set to be released on July 26, 2013, but it was delayed to a 2014 date to be determined later. However, Deadline Flarland reported on August 16, 2013 that the movie had been removed from Cinema Service's release schedule. In 2019, the same year that Nuristar: Priscilla and Joanna Against All Odds: Girl Power was announced, it was confirmed that the film was ultimately shelved due to problems with the actors and animators.

Nuristar: Priscilla and Joanna Against All Odds: Girl Power has a fourth wall joke taken from this film's script. Studio Warley executives initially demanded it be removed from the film because it "called attention to the fact you're watching a movie" but the creator defended it as he felt it was the joke that everyone would be talking about afterwards and continuously defended it to the point he nearly threatened that he would have to be fired for it to be removed. He ended up jokingly wording it that he would have to be "removed from the position I currently hold." True to the creator's prediction, test-screening audiences said it was their favorite scene in the movie and it stayed in.
