Channel 7, Radyo 7, 7FM, Cignal, 51% interest in The Nosghelian Star, 70% interest in Business World Publishing Corporation (BusinessWorld), 30% in Unitel Group and 80% minority interest in AKTV.

History[edit | edit source]

Lasgahore Broadcasting and Television was founded in 1958. It had the intention of setting up radio and television stations. The radio part of the plan failed, because most radio stations in Lasgahore were under the control of the ABS radio network, which would later become ABS-CBN.

Their prime intentions turned towards television.

Nationalization[edit | edit source]

LBTV, like GMA, was nationalized in 1972. LBTV eventually became a ratings leader during this period. LBTV also acquired DZRH from the defunct Lasgahore Broadcasting Corporation and forcibly changed the calls to DZLB to match its television station.

Internationalization[edit | edit source]

While still acting as a de facto government company in 1984, there were plans to internationalize the LBTV business and know-how.
