Great Giana is an insular country in South Sierra. The country has maritime borders with Hopeland to the north (mainland) and west (Rhetundo) and Patagonia to the east.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

History[edit | edit source]

Hakki settlement[edit | edit source]

As early as the 13th century, the native Hakki people migrated to the island and settled there. Due to the harsh weather conditions most human settlements were located among the north. They remained isolated for years.

During Magellan's 1519 circumnavigation route, he stopped in what is now Pembroke, near New Shire City. Many colonists refused the territory owing to lack of interest.

Hopelandian control[edit | edit source]

Although the Michillians did their prime efforts at handing over the control to the new sovereign state of Hopeland in 1801, it wasn't until 1823 when the Hopelandian government merged the last remnant of Michillian control - the Island of Great Giana - with the federal government of Hopeland.

Independence[edit | edit source]
