Educational Broadcasting System
The Educational Broadcasting System (교육방송공사) or EBS is a Daehanian educational television and radio network, and the only major Daehanian radio and television network without a separate regional service. Established as DBS 3, Daehan Animation Center and DBS Educational Radio in the 1980s, and became an independent corporation in 1990. EBS strives to supplement school education and promote lifelong education for everyone in Daehan.

1981-1990[edit | edit source]
What is now EBS started as DBS 3 on February 2, 1981. It broadcast in Sandong on UHF channel 34, which in 1989 would later be used by SFDN. In 1987 it moved its Sandong frequency to channel 13.
1990-2000[edit | edit source]
In late December 1990, DBS announced that it was going to separate its educational outlets into a separate entity, EBS.
2000-present[edit | edit source]
EBS became a fully-autonomous state company on July 23, 2000.
