Eco-Paradise Broadcasting Corporation
The Eco-Paradise Broadcasting Corporation is a de facto commercial broadcaster in the Flarlandian overseas territory of Eumoritown. It operates two channels and two radio stations. EPBC started off as a non-profit community organization in 1997, but the adoption of a commercial business in 2000 turned it into a "commercial enterprise".
The Eco-Paradise Trust owns at least 80% whilst the remaining 20% are held by the Dunlap Corporation.
As of March 16, 2020, its operations are at risk due to an "alarming report" being spread online. The Flarlandian Communications Commission gave power to the Eumoritonian government to suspend its broadcasts until April 16.
History[edit | edit source]
Operations[edit | edit source]
Radio[edit | edit source]
- Eco-Paradise FM is a radio station emulating Radio National with some contents from RN News and Radio Arts. More than half of the schedule is produced locally and the rest of the schedule consists of satellite links to Radio National and Radio Arts.
- Eumoritonian Flair is based on Radio Active yet the amount of local content is reduced to about 40%. Relays of UW Radio Active take up the remaining 60%.
Television[edit | edit source]
- Eco-Paradise Television is a competitor to Eumorimedia One and IBC. Most foreign programming is sourced from Channel Thirteen and its sister channels. It produces local programming, mainly news and programs about sustainable living.
- Eco-Paradise Sports is a sports channel created to fill the loophole of sporting events in the island. The channel usually has a set 12-hour schedule but this tends to change due to the gravity of sporting events.
Film and Television Department[edit | edit source]
The FTD was set up in 2001. So far a handful of television series and four feature films were made under the FTD using the Film in Eumoritown fund. The 2004 film Shadows is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Eumoritonian writer Parker Johnson. They also made a film based on the popular television series Mates.
Mates was shown in late 2006 and later in 2007 for two seasons of seven episodes each. The quality of the production had led to Mates becoming an international sensation.
Former[edit | edit source]
- Relays of NBS World were given to the Eumoritonian Broadcasting Corporation in 2005 and later to Eumorimedia.
- IBC Eumoritown was sold off to IBC in 2005.
