Dan and Ethel is a Flarlandian animated series made by Next Level (later merged with Studio Warley) for K-Zone. Despite 46 episodes and a total of roughly 85 segments, it's been considered as "forgotten" in Flarlandian animation history, for numerous reasons: jokes that its purported target wouldn't understand, being "too Flarlandian" to export and "too unappealing". Nonetheless the series was exported to a number of foreign channels, including international feeds of Nickelodeon during its run.

Premise[edit | edit source]

Dan is 11 years old. He is "just a normal boy" who works at MediaWorks (supposedly a parody of IBC) for one of its newspapers, with his apartment being an annex. He is reportedly underpaid and spends his work money at school. Ethel, his twin sister, is the opposite and is much omre successful, landing a film career. Breaking family balance is Dan's younger (by a year) brother, Michael, who is an inventor.
