Cromartie Network Invasion Incident
On January 31, 2007, FBC 3 made a billboard promoting the then-upcoming feature-length film Miles and Croydon Lost in Cromartie. In the three months leading to the incident, nine other similar billboards promoting the film were placed in other larger cities of Flarland, with Cromartie, the setting of the film, being the last one. Unlike other cities, the billboard featured the skyline of Cromartie with a large syringe pointing at the Berkshire Government building as well as the words UP YOURS. on top of the skyline. Fine print said that Miles and Croydon, FBC 3's adult animated series, had recently beaten its three competitors in ratings and believed that the FBC was dominating the market.
The incident generated panic across the city, with many believing to be a provocation to the local government. The three channels affected by the incident, Channel 14, Channel A and Grimy Factory saw their fortunes tumble during the next few months.
