Channel Thirteen
Channel Thirteen is the second-oldest television channel in Flarland and is the main channel of University of Wembley Broadcasting.
History[edit | edit source]
It started broadcasting on September 1st, 1951, as the second television channel in Flarland. At launch, it was branded as University of Wembley Television and broadcast on channel 13, on the other side of the band where FBC Television was stationed. It was initially an educational service, even though it carried news and entertainment programming. Some entertainment shows were classified as educational shows, since, at the time, they were training employees.
On the first days of operation, the channel premiered Watch and Learn, an educational program that ran throughout the channel's early years, and an adaptation of the long-running Listen and Learn. Commercial advertising wouldn't arrive to the channel until 1954, when the channel installed OB vans. By 1955, a quarter of the country had their coverage.
In the 1960s, the channel was known for breaking social taboos that the FBC and to some extent IBC wouldn't allow.

Branding[edit | edit source]
Upon consultancy from Martin Lambie-Nairn between 1993 and 1994, the three channels of the UWB corporation adopted individual colors. 13 adopted red, 14 orange and 15, blue.
Inspired by his creations for Radio Teledu Cymru in 1993, he thought that he would channel the context of the color with the generalist programming
