Bensonian English is the name given to a series of accents and mannerisms used throughout much of the Federal Republic of Bensonia that is known for its peculiar traits, excessive use of neologisms ending with the "-ation" suffix, portmanteaus, outdated terms and overcomplications of terms that are said in fewer terms in other, more widespread forms of English

Common traits[edit | edit source]

  • Negative sentences in the past tense (among the illiterate mostly)
  • Saying "keep" instead of "put"
  • "An" being replaced by "a" (among the illiterate mostly)

Phonology[edit | edit source]

A Bensonian accent is similar to the USS-sounding standard Hopelandian accent
