Aquaris Quest was a Flarlandian television series that aired on Channel 14 from 2011 to 2016 and again from 2019 onward. The series was set in a planet inhabited entirely by merpeople and meranimals named Aquaris and consisted of the efforts of a group of six (seven in the upcoming seventh season) merpeople - colloquially named "Sector 6" - in their quest for defeiting evil warlords and searching for the Totality Gems. The series was produced by Flarlandian Electrotank and was its last major work for television.

Premise[edit | edit source]

Aquaris is a planet inhabited by merpeople and meranimals. Some regions both above and below the water are unstable and are controlled by evil warlords in conflicts of interest. It is up to Sector 6 to hunt for the evildoers and to restore harmony to the natives.

Setting[edit | edit source]

Aquaris[edit | edit source]

Aquaris is considered to be a "hybrid planet", similar to Atlantis from The World of Atlantis. All living species are either merpeople or meranimals. Since water has also been spread to the surface world's air, it is possible to breathe and swim above the water.

There are two kinds of settlements, those located in islands and continental masses above the water and those located underwater.

Charter Island[edit | edit source]

Sector 6[edit | edit source]

Sector 6 is an organization headquartered in Charter Island, a central location for its members to investigate.

Atlantis[edit | edit source]

The center of Aquaris, an underwater kingdom led by King Triton, also known as "the first lifeform".

Characters[edit | edit source]

  • Ray: Leader of operations at Sector 6.
  • Priscilla: Female leader of operations at Sector 6.

Format[edit | edit source]

Episodes begin with a cold opening scene that describes the actions leading to the episode. Following the theme song, the Sector 6 characters appear and are called in the central headquarters for the mission.

Production[edit | edit source]

Work on the series started in 2007. The series was conceived by Devon Corey, voice actor of Merwin on Milo of the Deep. His inspiration was The World of Atlantis, a book series made by merauthors from Hopeland and Flarland and a Michillian fantasy writer. He decided to compete with a similar concept and pitch it to Flarlandian Electrotank.

Flarlandian Electrotank then pitched it to Channel 14, but later realized that the channel at the time was "overwhelmed" by the amount of shows that were submitted. As a result, Flarlandian Electrotank decided to continue the work on a season of thirteen episodes using perfected animation techniques.

Despite its apparent "cancellation", UWB greenlighted a fifth season under the principles that the season would feature "a new character" and "a slight change to the premise of the series". It is set to premiere on September 27, 2019 and will feature the 100th episode during its run.

The sixth season premiered in October 2021. Channel 14 treated the series badly and had a handful of season 5 episodes left to air.
