Aoshi Television is an Aoshian commercial television network and one of the first in the ASESON region. It is owned by the Intense Group (former ATV Group) backed by the Aoshi Ilbo since 2011.

History[edit | edit source]

Founding[edit | edit source]

ATV was founded in 1957 as the second television station in Aoshi, after ABC Television who started in the previous year. ATV was backed by the Aoshi Ilbo company, who settled in the radio business in 1952.

Shared hegemony[edit | edit source]

Yeongseo era[edit | edit source]

Park Yeongseo bought ATV in 1982, as well as ACR and Aoshi Ilbo.

Crisis[edit | edit source]

The arrival of a fourth national commercial network, YTV, backed by independent media outlets and with the support of the Young Democrats, led to a crisis in the network's structure.

ATV and its assets were sold off to R&M Consulting in 2000. To make matters even worse, another investor bought the entirety of ATV R&M in 2002.

New Golden Age[edit | edit source]

The first years of the new Intense Group were still troubling, nonetheless a solution had to be found to save the network from the crisis.
