2019 Kotaro terrorist attack
On the afternoon of March 15, 2019, Kotaro was the stage of Great Scorria's largest terrorist attack and the first one since 2000. The attack was planned by a Porowonian terrorist who had links to George Wangjia and had the plan of turning Great Scorria into a far-right state.
Peter Joro is allegedly 34 years old. He is one of Wangjia's relatives and threatens to kill the Great Scorrian president. His first attack was held at the Kotaro Mosque where he killed 32 citizens, mostly Tomalis, Bengalians, Malayanese and Karachistanis. In a second attack, he killed passersby, but suddenly his gun ran out of ammunition. The tally of deaths has rosen to 54, surpassing the record number of 41 of Kimberly Doomsday (June 29, 2000) by the Freedom Fighters. This attack also symbolizes the continuation of the dire state of relations between the two countries. In retaliation, Porowonian dissidents started the quickly-controversial #KillWangjia campaign.

Memorials[edit | edit source]
First anniversary[edit | edit source]
A memorial for the first anniversary of the attack was supposed to be held on March 15, 2020, however, due to safety concerns in Kotaro in November, the event was cancelled. All national radio and television stations are starting a TVGS/RGS-led period of silence, running from 13:40 to 14:34 - at 54 minutes in length in honor of the victims.
At the same time, George Wangjia and Peter Joro were supposed to start a provisional invasion of Kotaro.
Since then the federal governmentof Great Scorria wanted to keep the mosque as it was despite the purge. There are no plans from both the government and the FIAGS to reconvert it.
